On a beautiful sunday morning, i had to get up from my slumber cause i had a flight booking for the 1st wave for my 3rd sortie duty today. Today's flight is Effects of Control - 2, and i'm flying with another instructor as my primary instructor was on leave today. Nick Wong CC is his name, and hearing from many of my current coursemates, they seems to have quite a problem in getting a better grade than 4 from this instructor so I had to try to impress him to at least try to get a 5/7 and maintain at this level all the way if I could.

Well, as I had trouble sleeping early yesterday night, probably due to the stress of the morning flight and maybe I'm just used to not sleeping so early. Nevertheless, I just coop myself in bed to try to at least get some sleep. While not sure what time I actually slept yesterday, I managed to wake myself up at 7am to get ready for the flight. And as it was the first flight of the day, I had to report even earlier than i usually do.

As it was getting late from the time I left the house cause I remember leaving my wallet at home when I was close to reaching the bus-stop, I had to rush down by a taxi to at least reach Seletar Camp to hopefully hitch a ride from the mini van. And as I managed to hitch a ride, I prepared myself for the flight, and after the brief brief given by him, I went out myself to do my external checks that I was cleared to do so. Well, overall the flight went quite smoothly, and he was quite happy with my performance today so job well done and keep it up! =D

Resting @ Outside the Clubroom

Today we gathered in school for FOS, and since the GPs are busy testing out the games for prep camp, so we couldn't be involved in the testing of games. So while they were testing out the games, we were sort of doing some team bonding among ourselves, led by Ikhwan & Adelin.

Firstly, we did some campsong practical to familiarise ourselves so that we will be able to teach the freshies for the FO Camp that is due in 20 days. As I didn't attend any of the previous campsong practical, so today i learn quite a few new songs but it was quite similar to those I know, so it wasn't much of a problem learning them. After about 1 1/2 hours, we all grumbling on lunch break, and it was finally decided to have it after we finish most of the songs. We decided to head out of school over to Clementi for have our lunch there, before heading back to school for the 2nd part of the event.

After lunch, when everyone was still quite full in their tummy, we were playing some mind-twisting games while we digest our food resting just outside of FC5. After a few rounds, and some forfeit, Ikhwan decided to play 'his' game where each of us is paired up and were to carry our partners to and fro FC5. While some pairs faced problems completing it, It wasn't much of a problem for me so I finish the task very quickly. After that, we took a break before continuing...

After everything ended outside FC5, we went down to prepare for the forfeit of 2 of them, which was to change them to a SHIM. Everything was quite fun till one lady from SAA decided to stop us as we had some visitor from Japan. Well, while that spoiled the fun we're having, at least we finished 80% of what we intended to do so we all packed up and had a mini debrief at KFC before heading back to club and home!!

Today my driving lesson started slightly later than usual, but the training hours still remains at 90 minutes.

Today's weather was slightly drizzling, so its the first time I'm driving under a wet weather condition. Although the rain come and go, so it didn't affect the road condition much. Today's lesson, we went over to Ubi Training area to have a feel of how it would be at the test, if i can manage to get a good date soon. Over at Ubi, its not like other training areas ( Bukit Batok, Ang Mo Kio) where the road condition is slightly free from cars beside peak hours. Ubi area is constantly congested whatever time you may be driving at, cause alot of people will be having their test, learning and also people coming in and out of the industrial buildings located there.

Overall driving was good and smooth, as least getting better each lesson. However, it seems like the clutch movement from my leg is still not going smoothly, but I getting the gitch of it closer to the end of today's lesson. And i sort of realise certain stuff during driving on the road. My instructor today should be quite satisfied with my performance, besides the clutch problem I'm facing, he feels that I dare to accelerate and control my car very well, just that the moving off from a stopped position is not very well excuted, so this may be causing problems to me if I don't get rid and find a solution to how I'm going to drive my car.

So far, its only my 4th lesson, and with my clutch technique still not constant, so today I didn't learn parking at all. But at least today I managed to shift up to the 4th gear, and the reverse gear to practise my clutch technique. It seems that I am getting used to it, so hopefully I can have more chances to drive to further improve on my driving. First thing first, I am going to have to find a good date ASAP.......

Today i was suppose to be finished with my 2nd flight already, and much as I want to tell you about my experience, it seems that today wasn't a good day to fly after all.

When i got there, i checked in everything and also find out that today my primary instructor is not in and will not be flying with me. And the instructor taking me is Chua BS, which from what I heard to be one of the 'best' person to fly with. Well, i guess he is just being strict and well, it seems like coming earlier today is not the early that the instructor is looking for. I waited for him outside his office, and got scolded for waiting outside as he was waiting for me in his room, and talking to a PPL student.

After we discussed about what we going to be doing today, i went on to do my stuff, in preparation for the flight today. However, before he could even step out of the hanger, there was a CAT 1 lightning risk, and so all the flights has to be cancelled or temporary stopped. Another course mate was also present at that time, and he was already doing his 3rd flight. However, it seems like both of us are not going to be able to complete this flight, but lucky for him, his primary instructor was able to find him one available slot tomorrow to complete his flight. But from what i saw for the next two days, my primary instructor should be on leave or MC since he is not even in the planned flight.

So, after preparing so much, i guess it's just fate and maybe god giving me more time to be even more prepared than i can be so I can definately make an impression the next time round. Also, tomorrow I will be having driving lessons @ 3pm, so hopefully everything goes well for me=D

Till next time..........

It's been 4 days since i last post, so i decided to write something out today. It has been one month out of my three months holiday to summarize my first year in poly. While many people will be finding work to earn extra cash for the year, I'm kinda stuck at home as its not easy to find someone who will want to hire me due to my unconstant timetable I have each week, and with the next few coming weeks, things are just going to get busier and busier, so I either just stay at home and rest, or go out with friends to enjoy myself for this few days of break i have left.

Also, i just recieved a message saying that I have a flight plan tomorrow @ 1650hrs. And if i didn't remember wrongly, last week's flight was also on a thrusday, same time, so hopefully things will maintain like that and maybe more flight plans with no major clashes with my commitments I have currently. Tomorrow will be my second flight, so from now on, I will be graded at every flight based on my performance, so I better get out my holiday mode and start getting prepared for everything that may be tested tomorrow, so as to get the best grade I can get. After last week's flight, I guess I better start reading up on some materials to have a better knowledge and able to answer some questions asked by my instructor.

Up till date, I'm still unable to get a practical test date for my driving, and meanwhile I will just be learning while waiting for a good date. As I'm still not taught everything yet, so I will be learning everything before I decide whether I still want an early test date, so just get a later one and wait till that day come. Well, I will leave everything to be more natural so yeah.~!

Just finish watching The Longest Yard, and will most likely be watching another one later on. So catch everyone later~!!!!

Hmm, after 2 weeks since passing my final theory test, I'm still unable to get a test date. Although I still haven't complete my learning process, but if i have a test date, at least there is something for me to look forward to. So as long one day I confirm have a test date, it just means a prolonged time before I can attain my driving licence. With flying and other work coming up, I just hope to get my driving licence cleared as fast as I can.

Also, after yesterday's lesson, I still haven't fully master the clutch and acceleration pedal, and I better do some adjustment before I can fully concentrate on the road, as up to this point, I'm still trying to have a good habit of controlling the clutch, especially during moving off, and from a slope where feeling the point of moving is harder than when the road is straight and level.

Anyway, tomorrow going to have a briefing at SYFC, and working at AMK giving out flyers for kinderland. So whoever going there tomorrow, do drop by the hub and library and collect some from me since the whole stack will never be possible to clear them all!!

Till then..........

Today after a long awaited time, i finally got my first flight planned, proceeding out of my orientation phrase and starting on my flying phrase already.

I report as required 30 minutes before the flight, but it seems that i'm still late in meeting my instructor and that i should be reporting even earlier than i did today. My overall performance today, i will say that i should be even more prepared than i think i was, as today was the first day flying in the sky with my primary instructor. However, as today is so called a familiarisation flight, so we are not graded for this specified sortie.

I guess i have to be more prepared the next time round, and hopefully try to get use to be up in the sky as i think i'm still not very adapt to it. Although i didn't have any air sickness during the flight, it was more of the after effect i guess..

Tomorrow i'm going to have my driving lesson, so its just camp planning, driving and flying all the time till i get all of this done and finish already!!

Over and out!

Back for the 2nd part of the trip. Currently unable to get myself to sleep, i guess its probably due to the effect of the late morning sleeping hours due to the time spent at the casino, I just can't get to sleep despite only sleeping less than 5 hours for about 2 days...

I went back to my room about 6am, have a hot shower and a change of clothes before climbing up the foldable bed to have a short rest. Sleepy me just couldn't get myself out of the bed to make it for the breakfast buffet, which is the only meal that the buffet offers orange juice. And I MISS IT. I woke up around noon to have the lunch buffet before I went with my two cousins to the basketball court at the top level to play for a while. After playing a while, there came a three more people coming in to play and of course, we had to just team up and play a few games as some recreation activity for us.

Next, after playing basketball, we went towards the swimming pool to just enjoy ourselves in the afternoon heat. And to our susprise, there was actually a pool event for everyone who is swimming to join in and play together. However, it doesn't seems to be alot of people interested to swim in such a small area swimming pool, thus there wasn't much people playing in the event. No matter what, there was about 6-8 of us there in the pool, and were told to get into groups of 3 since 2 of them were unwilling to join in the game. There was 3 rounds to be played and with the group with 2 wins taking home to Star Cruise Gold Medal! Now for the brief overview of how the game went.

Game 1: There was a bucket at the tip of the swimming pool, and each team were given one plastic cup each. We were required to swim one breadth of the pool with the cup and storing as much water as we can before putting it inside the bucket. The time limit was 30s, so as the game started, it was quite a close game till the last part where my cousin and I started to go in a quick circle to end of the game, allowing my younger cousin to rest for the next 2 games. Both teams' cup was in quite a torn condition when the game ended, and of course with us winning the 1st round in with 3/4 of the pail filled.

Game 2: The next game was to fill as much plastic ball in your swimwear before putting at a corner, and the team with the most ball wins. This round was very disadvantagous to us since the three of us are wearing trunks, while the other team switched the girl with another guy that was wearing a swimsuit. And despite this huge advantage they had, I realised that they even cheated by just grabbing the ball from the pool and putting it as their as the majority of the ball was also nearby. Thus, without much explaination, the 2nd round went over to the other side.

Final Game: Both team were 1:1, and it was all or nothing although initially I thought there will be at least gold and silver medals for the team. So I actually told my cousin to relax and treat it as just a game of fun as he wa quite unhappy with the people cheating in the 2nd round despite the massive advantage they already had. And so, the last game was to swim with a hula hoop and running about half the pool, passing it to the next person until the last person reaches the finishing line.

It was like an Olympic Final Trio Swimming Event, where it was China & Singapore team for the Gold Medal! My tactic for this game, was to put my cousin 1st to try and get the lead against them, so as to allow my younger cousin to at least maintain status quo since he is generally still a kid and smaller in size as compared to the other team. At the second lap, my cousin seemed to be having some problem with the hula hoop and wasting quite sometime before he was able to pass it to me, when the other team was already halfway there. When it was passed to me, I took a real gamble to try to use my hands to swing the hula hoop and trying to catch up with the last guy. It looks like my gamble paid off as not only I managed to chase up the last guy, I even clinch the Gold Medal for the event. It seems that the last guy didn't realise that he had to get up and run back to the finishing line to consider them win, so it sort of wasted some time there, but with another disadvantage situation on us, we were consider very good to be able to win this event and bring back glory of ourselves? ^_^

After that pool event, about after another 2 laps of swimming we went back to the room to shower and prepare ourselves for the BBQ outdoor buffet dinner. Quite tired typing and should be getting to be and sleep already, so watch out for the finale of the long winded post, but the climax is in this post! Hope you enjoy!!!

I'm backk~

Coming back from a 2D2N trip to nowhere in StarCruise Virgo~! I'll give a brief overview of the trip below...

2nd March:
At about 5 pm, about the 9 of us gathered at my place before starting to take the train heading towards HarbourFront Station. When we reached there, we went directly to the Cruise Center and starting queueing up to board on the ship for the journey to nowhere! It was a pretty long queue so we took about 30 minutes or so before we were able to get in. When we went in the ship, everyone was just going around to eat the free buffet or 6 course meal from the chinese restaurant. However, due to the overcoming number of people, we were given a ticket to wait till 9pm before we could go in for our dinner, so we went to the free unlimited buffet where everyone just take whatever they wanted and just simply sit and eat everything. We ate just to fill our stomach a little before we went to the chinese restaurant to have our dinner there. After the dinner, while the adults make their way to the casino, we head towards the arcade where many many kids are stranded there with tokens to spend their time there while their parents are 'working hard' at the casino.

Over at the arcade, I was susprised there was actually new games available there, but the price to just play them is simply crazy and a waste of money. So in the end, to be playing with a good budget of money, we tried to save and spend whatever we can to enjoy and waste the time off as much as we can. After we finish our game, it was already close to midnight, and there isn't much we can do as there is nothing much open for us to do or play in. So we decided to head over to the casino and hopefully able sneak in somehow to just spend some time before returning back to the room to sleep. When we got there, it seems that the age limit to enter the casino is 18, so it seems that I'm of legal age to enter, and as we tried to enter with my uncle in front of us, it seems that we are still unable to bluff the security guard and were checked by him. So, unforunately for my cousin, he had to wait outside for us while I entered the casino to explore a while. And as it was getting late, and my cousin is probably bored just waiting around there, so i went out to accompany him before asking him to head back to the room to rest first since we have things to tomorrow. When he went back to the room, I was back at the casino room where I was playing jackpot with my aunt and mum all night long without a wink? The luck was quite good as I managed to help my aunt get some extra cash, and learn how to play in the casino. As we didn't bet big, so the returns is definately not as big as you may think so that also pretty much ends up 1D1N I spend in the cruise...

Well, it seems like the first day is already taking quite a long post, so i will leave it as such before I continue the longer part of day 2 with the next post coming up soon..... Watch out for it!!

Here I am embarking on a journey to nowhere, and will be back in 3 days time. Hopefully everyone will miss me, and I will miss you all!!!!

Cruising oFF!
