Review.

Ah, yet another week just passes me by. Really wanted to wait for the pictures to be uploaded and handed over to me before i blog this out, but i guess the long i wait, the more i'm going to forget about what i want to blog about since the start of my event.

Well, i won't be trying to remember every detail or go through the whole event sequence so technically speaking, it shouldn't be a very long post=)

Event was scheduled to be officially held on the 5th November 2008 (Wednesday), 3.30pm in Singapore Polytechnic Sport Hall Badminton courts. Although i was informed that I wasn't able to book this date for the event, i wasn't told why i couldn't booked it so i was gambling that everything will just go on smoothly. I also mentally prepared myself for some backup plans if really something screws up on that day itself. As i had to get some stuff first before heading down to school, anytime till the start of the event, if my phone ever rings, it means TROUBLE! While nothing really goes wrong most of the time, it happened like just 10 minutes before the scheduled time to start. To make matters worse, I was just informed that School of EEE is going to have their event on this day also. Adding on to the fire is that they will be making use of all the available courts and any other backup plans that i could think of was totally wasted.

After receiving several phone calls, i finally rushed back to school to ensure everything is settled and accounted for, especially since i wasn't there at that point of time. So i would like to say a BIG thank you to ALL my OC team for
Heats of Shuttle (H.O.S) to make all the necessary changes in any ways they have helped to survive this ordeal.

Gotta say sorry to Shuqing to experience this enormous screw-up that could have been prevented if i didn't take the gamble on the date, and hopefully you can take this experience to prevent and overcome any other similar experiences in the near future. And not forgetting Wendy, who really helped Shuqing and the team survive the ordeal without my presence physically. I really didn't put you there just to be there!
UNDERSTAND! =) Also got to thank Gavin, and the rest of the team who really handle the situation well without me being there! So as expected, when i arrived at school like finally is what most will say, everything is pretty much settled, except some minor player's schedule.

Since the first day was pretty much screwed up, nothing should actually go wrong in the next day. So me being me checked through everything for the next day before it's rest time. And to be there first thing in the morning once i wake up. Well, i guess everything went on quite smoothly from the 2nd day onwards. Plus i don't want to bore you all with all the tiny details so i shall just keep it straight to the ending of the event.

After the finals were played on Tuesday, we had a prize presentation for all the winners. I would say its quite a normal standard looking presentation, just that maybe everyone could play their part a little to hasten the setup. But it went on very well either way, so no complains as well! And after the players that worked hard to compete in so many matches to achieve the prize, it was my turn to give out the prizes for my helpers. And if i didn't say, it was Shuqing who gave out the prizes to the players since i personally felt she should be the one doing it. I won't be revealing who actually got them so i will just carry on with the thanking part that should be written in here.

First i guess i will start off with all my helpers that played a big part to my event. Everyone deserved to be mention in here!!

Events Team, headed personally by me!

Yeo Shu Qing, Events Coordinator

~"I hope you will take all the experience you gather in this event, to help you in whatever you do in the future. You already know what needs to be done, just need to pluck that bit of courage hidden inside you to get it done! I never trust the wrong people till the end, so i'll be right this time as well! I'll be around for at least another 6 months, so if you ever read this and needed any help, always remember what i tell you if you wanna get hold of me"

Wendy Koh, Events Coordinator

~"Another successful event under your belt. As i said earlier in my post that i seriously didn't put you there for no reason or any other reason. I know all about you ability, strengths and of course your weaknesses. Either way, i hope you really had fun working directly under me this time round. I don't need to say much here cause you know very well inside you what i would like to say. If you don't know, TOO BAD!!" =p

Chew Wee Hong, Events Secretary

~"Guess it wasn't easy for you to get everything done for me throughout the whole event, even though your SMS are unlimited. It takes time and effort for you to do all this, so hopefully you can take this learning experience and work hard in whatever you do." "You're too kind for your own good!"

Yeo Chai Wei, Umpire I/C
Chen Shun Li, Asst. Umpire I/C

~"The partnership you guys gave me was great. Handling 20 people in the team does seem easy, but preparing everyone, and ensuring they will be there during their duty should have seriously tire both of you down excluding all the other stuffs you guys gotta handle! Good job overall!"

Ong Jia Wei, Registration I/C

~"You definately didn't let my trust down when I totally entrusted you with the registration side. Well, it was a very job well done by you in handling the whole team, but of course don't let this get too high in your head! You can be much better than what you are now, it's just all in the mind! I had fun so i guess you did as well!"

Lee Xuan Jun, Asst. Registration I/C

~"My secondary school mate that helped out during the event throughout the journey. Somewhere along the way you got lost, but i was glad that you found your way back and did whatever you can in your own ways to ensure the event went on smooothly. Good luck in the upcoming Gamer's Meet! Give MIT our glory again!"

Teo Ann Chee, Security I/C

~"I hope that this event experience have given you some form of learning pointers that you can take and use it to your advantage in the future. Hopefully I was able to create some fun, laughter enviroment for everyone to be in. Not sure if I did the right thing on the last day, but i sincerely hope you can think about it and you will achieve greater heights next time!"

Leo Qi Zhi, Asst.Security I/C

~"Tireless effort from you to keep the whole team running along with Ann Chee. Good job all-rounded, so hopefully this gave you some memories to hold dear to next time. Especially the bump on your fore-head Ouch!"

Stanley See, Logistic I/C

~"Your vast working experience certainly came to handy in this event as you were able to get things done quickly and of course within the high standard that i have for event's setup. Hope you got what you wanted in the event, which is to know more people within the school and making more friends! You definitely deserved being the TOP OC for this event. I shall be watching from the side on how you're going to grow on to be one of the leaders of the School! "

Timothy Su, Refreshment I/C

~"Hey Mr.President. It was on honor for me to have you to help out this event. Guess it wasn't as smooth a journey as you would expected, but you should had fun as well during the event."

Zoe Lai, Events In-house Designer

~"All thanks to this great lady here for all publicity materials to be completed within the short period while coping with FYP. It was quite a waste not to see you around during the event itself, but your efforts will be appreciated. Thanks Mighty Gai-sensei!" =p

Gavin Boey, Asst. Event Coordinator

~"The only person in my event to get a promotion. Was initially put under Registration team to assist Jiawei if needed, but guess maybe the whole event needed his help to run smoothly. I don't think you need any more learning experience, so i just thought that if you really enjoyed yourself in this final event of mine. Thanks Brother!"

Guess i will also end off here as well, if i missed out anyone or anything. I'm sorry but i'm thankful for your efforts in this event. There is a whole lot of stuff i wanna write about but it will wait till a while later.

Till Then~
